Traditional Moroccan Hammam Ritual

     This full body ritual has been passed down from ancient Moroccan Hammam Spas and utilises a combination of traditional techniques and essential elements to form the basis of our Hammam Ritual. Mira’s hand is an Authentic Moroccan Skin and Body Care range using unrefined traditional recipes and ingredients unique to Morocco, used by the Ancient Romans and Egyptians as a natural beauty treatment for their skin and hair.
Argan oil has been used for hundreds of years by the Berber women of Morocco and is the key component for this ritual. It is grown organically only in the south-western region of Morocco and possesses an array of anti aging properties shown to regenerate, moisturise and help regulate the skin's natural oils. It does not clog pores and actually has antiseptic and antibacterial properties making it perfect for all skin types and conditions.
 

The Ritual.

This ritual starts with layers of steaming hot towels enveloping your body in warmth to soften the skin and sooth muscles. Savon Noir made from olive pulp, rich in minerals and vitamin E is massaged over your body to cleanse and lift built up dead skin. A rhythmic full body exfoliation then follows using a Kessa exfoliating glove exfoliating glove (this you get to take home), utilising traditional techniques to achieve the ultimate squeaky-clean feeling, eliminating dry skin, ingrown hairs, blackheads and improving circulation to reveal renewed, glowing skin.
Warmed Rhassoul Clay is then massaged over your entire body and hot towels layered over the top, intensifying the detoxification process. Rich in minerals such as magnesium, silica and calcium, Rhassoul Clay has the ability to draw out excess oils and impurities from deep within, to clarify the skin, hair and scalp. Soft muslin is gently cocooned around you, allowing the steam of the towels to open the skins pores. As the clay sinks in you can then feel the skin come alive, tingling from the stimulation. Whilst wrapped, a tension relieving scalp massage, with 100% Pure Argan Oil allows the detoxifying action of the Rhassoul clay to take full effect.
